How could anyone be bored. Just because I dug out shirts I had washed and hung up, some over eight months ago, and actually ironed them? Never could I get bored when snowed in. But I am still not so bored I would watch the teabaggers.

The next tea party stop for Sarah is supposed to be Searchlight, Nevada.

citizenswell

snip.

The “Tea Party Express III: Just Vote Them Out” tour will rally conservatives in support of principles such as limited government, fiscal responsibility, and an end to the socialist policies being imposed by the Obama administration.

The caravan will launch with a “Mega Rally” in Searchlight, Nevada (population: approximately 500), the tiny hometown of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, on March 27th.

The Searchlight rally will feature numerous conservative celebrities and VIP’s, as well as the candidates vying for Reid’s senate seat. The Searchlight Mega Rally is expected to draw participants from multiple states to an event unprecedented in size and scope for the small town. From there, the Tea Party Express travels eastward towards its final destination of the massive April 15th Tax Day Tea Party rally in Washington, D.C.”

One of the speakers at the bagger rally wants a literacy test for voters. A literacy test will eliminate baggers from voting.

Hey that is good news, I had planned to be in DC then visiting friends. Maybe we can go down to the Mall and have a few laughs.

They're going to have to get past this shit.

Scenes from the Tea Party: A Reporter's Notebook in Nashville

snip.

Joseph Farah, editor of the conservative Website WorldNetDaily, opened his speech at the Tea Party convention in Nashville with jokes and questions about President Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship. To loud approval from the crowd, Farah said his dream is that if Obama seeks re-election in 2012, he won't be able to go to any city in America without seeing signs that ask, "Where's the birth certificate?" The fact that the rest of the media has declared the issue settled is proof, he said, that it's not.

From this same link. I guess they decided no publicity is bad publicity.

snip.

In the beginning, the National Tea Party Convention held its media passes close. It was a "working" conference, the media relations team said. Organizer Judson Phillips said space and access were limited, with only Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, and conservative websites Breitbart.com, Townhall.com and WorldNetDaily making the cut. But by Friday, Phillips instead was bragging about media representatives from Canada, Ireland, France and even Al Jazeera English. (Germany has an especially large contingent.) C-Span is broadcasting sessions, and pjtv.com is streaming some events live. Phillips encouraged cooperation, though in practically every workshop and interview the MSM, or mainstream media, are named as complicit in the downfall of American society. A side effect of the wall-to-wall coverage: I've been stopped by several journalists anxious for reaction from a black Tea Party member. The guy from CNN looked so disappointed when I told him I was a working journalist, too.

I can see KKKitty now at the Tea Party Convention. Looking all weepy as his hero, 'The Quitter', gives her $115,000.00 speech and he's waving his sign so proudly.

Okay maybe we ought to give em break on being newbies into the political machines and all...not saying to support their beliefs, ideas, etc...but simply the mistakes that occur when a party is in their making. Think about some of the "goofy" (being nice here) people and things that made their way into the beginnings of the Repubs and the Dems...before those parties became so slick and sophisticated...

Sarah woke them up.

nytimes

snip.

And pressed about the relationship between the Republican Party and the Tea Party movement, and whether the latter should become a third party, Ms. Palin suggested the two should be compatible.

“The Republican Party would be really smart to start trying to absorb as much of the Tea Party movement as possible,” she said. “This is a beautiful movement because it is shaping the way politics are conducted. You’ve got both party machines running scared.”

The convention had gathered here to try to turn the activism of the Tea Party rallies over the last year into actual political power. Her speech was the keynote event of the convention, and the big draw for many of the 600 people who had paid $549 to attend – another 500, organizers said, paid $349 just to see for her speech alone.

The convention had been a pretty sedate affair until the Palin speech, with delegates sitting through panel discussions about how to effect changes in primary elections and how to use new technology to Tea Party advantage. But by the time she took the stage after the closing dinner Saturday night, convention-goers were hungry for the red meat.

They had begun lining up outside the ballroom three hours before the speech, breaking out at one point into “God Bless America.” As Judson Phillips, the chief convention organizer, warmed up the crowd for her speech, it erupted in chants of “USA! USA!” They raised a toast to Ronald Reagan, whose 99th birthday would have been Saturday. (“To Ronnie,” said one woman wearing sequins at the back of the room.)

When Andrew Breitbart, the founder of BigGovernment.com, introduced Ms. Palin by describing her as “the first person to tell us about the death panel,” the crowd cheered.

snip.

And Ms. Palin said she would make no apologies for taking money and turning it back, she said, to conservative causes, though she has not specified which ones she will donate to.

“I will live I will die for the people of America,” she said. “This party that we call the Tea Party, this movement, as I say is the future of politics in America.”

Funny Palin brought up Obama's use of the teleprompter and she could hardly look up from reading her written out speech. You'd have thought that she would have at least memorized the first couple paragraphs, huh? But in faairness to her when she gave her message it probably was the first time she looked at what had been written for her.

Sarah backed off a little on her tea party and republicans needing to merge, but just a little. If these people were so happy about republicans why the heck would they bother starting this tea party business? They need to become a third party. That would actually make it interesting. I'd like to see how many senators and congressmen would jump ship to that party.

Why didn't she say "give me liberty or give me death"? Someone else already did? Whatever, she's going to die a lot richer than she probably ever thought she would.

Because somebody wanted to know why only the RNC could shake these rubes down. And that somebody was Dick Armey and Sarah Palin.

It's great watching those two grifters work the rubes.

The teabaggers were happy with the republican party as far as they would take them. But these people got energized when Obama was elected. Mainstream and usual republican hatred for blacks was just not enough. Now the threat was real to white America.....they were and are in danger of losing their stranglehold on power. The tea bag party is very KKKish in their approach and they are very open about it. They will drag many of the party with them as they speed further right. This movement was very predictable.

Sarah Palin wrote the answers to the questions on her hand!

She was told what questions she would be asked before the revival and she still had to write the answers on her hand?

There are so many factions that I don't see how they can come together. This group that just had their little revivial meeting seems to be too ready to be Republicans again. There has to be a real leader out there for the others and it ain't Sarah.

dailycaller

Critics: Tea Party movement does not require top down leadership

snip.

Three men who were involved in the early stages of planning of the National Tea Party Convention — but who eventually resigned over disagreements with the organizers — showed up to the event Saturday and blasted its organizers over a number of issues, including its emphasis on top-down leadership.

Tennessee Tea Party Coalition member Mark Herr, along with Anthony Shreeve and Robert Kilmarx, said the convention’s high-ticket prices kept the average grassroots activist from being able to attend.

“I just can’t afford to come,” he said just steps from the convention’s ballrooms at the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

The critics are now part of the Tennessee Tea Party Coalition, a loosely aligned network of Tennessee based Tea Party groups consisting of 34 groups and 18,000 members, Herr said.

Herr also criticized yesterday’s announcement by convention organizers Judson Phillips and Mark Skoda that they would be forming Ensuring Liberty corporation, which will include a political action committee that will support Republican candidates across the country. Herr said the movement should not pledge to only support Republicans.

Asked about the critics, convention organizer Judson Phillips “go ask the people here if it is grassroots.”

Phillips said the convention was meant for leaders — and not grassroots activists — and that’s why the ticket prices and extravagances at a luxurious Nashville resort were appropriate.

"...Call them rubes, but they got Scott Brown elected...."

Get your players straight, Catzie. Independents voted Brown in Massachussets, some of whom were probably Baggers. But he received lots of Republican and Democrat votes too. Had the Democrats run anything that held any semblance to being a Real Candidate, Brown would have lost.

Her hair looks like she just tumbled out of bed.

Face it. If she wasn't good looking no one would be paying any attention to her at all. Not even lc.

That's just your racist paranoia speaking. Nothing more. You aren't capable of commenting on the GOP because your own bias poisons your thinking from the onset. All you ever do is regurgitate your own prejudice and hate.

I think he's right. I'm seeing how it works, so many groups have tried the same trick lately:

Some body like the Global Warming promulgators lie their heads off and get people afraid of breaking a taboo if they deny global warming, and as part of this they claim it's a "Settled Issue."

Obviously it isn't, by definition, but they keep saying that in hopes that pure aggressive assertion will scare people into falling in line with what they want them to believe.

However, I don't think that will happen in this case. There is certainly SOMEthing wrong with the birth certificate --- probably the mom wasn't really married, and/or it says Barama is Muslim, and people have smelled there is something wrong. It won't go away.

The birth certificate has already undermined confidence in ol' Barama all over the country, and that is the purpose of promoting the issue.

Do I think he's illegal, not a citizen? No, sounds improbable to me. But remember it never matters what is true, only what people can be convinced is true.

The Birth Certificate issue is huge, and a lot of the reason IS that it's underground. There has been a whole lot of lying in recent years about important issues -- climate, blacks, etc. -- in attempts to coerce people into obeying taboos despite the arrant nonsense of what they are being coerced into agreeing with. People resent this. It's usually the leftists doing this.

So it becomes an important signal of membership in the non-leftist patriotic group to communicate in small, trusted groups, that we don't believe any of this crap being pushed on us. The Birth Certificate has made it into that bunch of issues that the media leftists push as "settled" but the great majority holds entirely the opposite opinion, often as a sort of political loyalty affirmation.

Greenwald is right:

Palin doesn't represent anything new. She's just an exponent of the anti-science, anti-economics, anti-job creation Christopublicans that's masquerading as a new party. After Jr and Dick destroyed the brand, what else was left but to trick up the same old lack of ideas wrapped up in racist nonsense?

It has been proven beyond a shadow of even a reasonable doubt that he was born in Hawaii.

The main problem with the birther crap is that the people who put it out there look like idiots. The result is that pushing it will not get get an additional vote (In fact it will help the Messiah - it allows him to paint his opponenets as nuts).

Bankrupting the finanacial futures of our children and grandchildren (the geneisis issue for the Tea Party movement) is an issue for a majority of American people. The Messiah's birthplace is not.

The RNC should let it be known right now that any primary canadidate that espouses birtherism should forget about any general election support if they get nominated. Bitherism is electoral cancer for its proponents.

And those 25 million voters will support you on the actual issues. You need to worry about the other 175 million voters that are turned off by birtherism.

Imho, the birthers know he was born an American citizen but they want to go after the fact his parents may not have been married and his dad was a Muslim. In other words they're racists and some kind of moral brigade. A pretty combination indeed.

The Tea Party/ies don't need these idiots if they want to actually do any good.

That would give the chance to trot out the word "illegitimate" again.

Of course, Sarah Palin will be upset, but so what?

Funny there is so much doubt circulating, then.....you would say it isn't REASONABLE doubt. Okay.....of course, there are lots of people who vote even if their doubts aren't reasonable.

Often they vote MORE if their doubts aren't considered "reasonable" by some hated elitist damn liberal minority.

They look like idiots to YOU --- they may not look like idiots to each other, however. But I think you can depend on them resenting being called idiots by useless pointy-head socialist elitists who are lying about this the same as they lied and lied and lied about global warming ------ I am simply relaying the deeply felt comparison that is being made in country regions. The more we are told we are "idiots" and aren't allowed to believe in X or Y or Z, the more we will believe exactly that, in defiance. Did you suppose this sort of thing was about TRUTH? Ha. It's about what group of people you belong to.

You say people who believe this are idiots and they aren't allowed to believe it because it's not true. I note, however, that Barama is routinely --- routinely --- called "that Kenyan" by quite a lot of people. And they vote.

The more people call us names and forbid us to believe X or Y, the more likely even *I* am to start believing it. There is certainly SOMEthing wrong with this socialist turkey's long-form birth certificate. I believe (at the moment) that it shows up a lie he's been telling for way too many years to expose now: people would vote against him purely for that reason. But a lot of people think he's a damn African by birth. Maybe they'll all magically stop believing that because you tell them to?

Or maybe it will spread.

In a hot general election, what do you think, will it spread or will everyone carefully stop believing in all that because some leftist tells them to?

You should go on dictating the focus of the Tea Party movement; I'm sure they will all find that very helpful.

Sure, I agree with you. There should be the usual understanding with the candidate that s/he takes the high road and Dirty Tricks Specialists will take care of spreading the propaganda and rumors that Obama may not even be a legal candidate.

Are we forgetting this is exactly how Bush took the presidential nomination away from McCain in 2000? That "black baby" of McCain's, in the South Carolina primary, spread by a phone call campaign.

It wasn't true. But Bush ended up president, not McCain.
