Call the results of this weekends games. Indy over the Jets and I'm torn between the Vikings and the Saints. I'm vacillating ...
I expect the Jets to really make it interesting, but in the end, Peyton Manning and Indy and the Dome crowd will be too much for 'em. Indy in a close one.
In the NFC, The Vikes are a solid team, but the Saints have that aura of a team of destiny. The Loosiana SuperDome crowd will make a difference in this one. New Orleans by 10 points.

Wasn't real interested in the Jets/Colts game. Both have good QB's but Peyton Manning is something else.
The Saints/Vikings game is something else. I like the lead changing so often. If Farve has a left ankle injury, will it hurt the Vikes? Who is their backup QB?

Well the Vikings sure outplayed the Saints except for all those turnovers. They got nobody to blame but themselves. That pass interference penalty in OT was a bullshit call, however.
KKKitty had a real bad day. All wrong just as in everything he does or thinks about.

Football season is over. From now on, it's just amateur hour, by which I mean everybody and his brother watches the Super Bowl. And people come to Super Bowl parties and drink margaritas and go, "Oh, I don't care about the game. I only come to watch the commercials. And drink margaritas."
Screw that. I haven't missed a single play in the Super Bowls since they started way back when and Vince Lombardi and Hank Stram were prowling the sidelines. Shit, you go to some of these Super Bowl parties and you run into dilettantes who weren't even born when the first Supe was played.

I think my best bud and I are going to resurrect our Super Bowl party, but keep it on the smaller side and low key. We used to have a crowd and throw a bunch of stuff in the smoker. We had pools on everything.
It was funny....the guys did all of the food except for some things some of the ladies would bring. They would volunteer to clean up the kitchen, but it would already be done. David and I clean as we go along. After a few years, they would just tell us to call on them if we needed them.....lol.

While watching the playoff games yesterday, I kept thinking what a stupid game football is. A bunch of big, fat guys pound the crap out of one another. Other guys run at one another at high speeds. And then there are the commercials....endless commercials....
Sing the Star Spangled Banner...break for commercials. Kick the ball off....break for commercials. Guy goes down with an injury...break for commercials.
And then the biggest insult of all...the two minute warning. TWO MINUTE WARNING? WTF is that? Just an excuse for more commercials.
It's a stupid game. But I prob'ly won't stop watching it.

Patricia: No problem here with Timmy Tebow's ad. I'd be more inclined to watch that commercial, 'cause it's inherently more interesting. I'd be interested to hear what Timmy's momma had to say; won't change my position on abortion, though.
It'd be a welcome change from dancing Bud Lite bottles.
But chimpanzees....that's different. You put chimps in a commercial, that trumps everything.

Go Daddy purchased two 30-second slots for the Feb. 7 game, and submitted five ads to CBS (CBS) for approval. While four of the five got the thumbs-up, the "Lola" spot, which features a large, black ex-football player who becomes a successful online lingerie retailer, was nixed. Go Daddy has picked another spot called "Movies," featuring race car driver Danica Patrick in revealing outfits, to fill one of its commercial slots, and now must pick one of its other three to fill the second.

It will be the first song they sing during their performance. Obviously, they know who they are dealing with here.  In a just world they would make that presentation instead of the usual trashing of the national anthem. I guess they couldn't get Roseanne to give us her rendition.

If the NFL stakes the rights to "Who Dat" the New Orleans fans should claim rights, and get royalty, on the paper bags worn by fans too embarrassed to show their faces while at a NFL game. That was their invention and quite hilarious when they first did it.

Kurt Warner made it official and retired today. I am willing to bet he will be a man and stick by his words and actually stay retired and not play drama queen like another NFL qb who shall remain nameless. He was a very unusual talent, undrafted, working in a grocery store, Arena League and European leagues all the way to the Super Bowl (and probably the HOF). I mean the guy led two of the perennial losing teams of the past few decades, the St. Louis Rams and the Arizona Cardinals to the big game and they actually won one of them. That alone deserves first ballot consideration to the HoF.
