Illinois had a primary on Tuesday for various state offices including Lt. Governor. The winner of the democratic primary is a guy by the name of Scott Lee Cohen. Here is a little on Scott .
The newly minted Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor said Wednesday he doesn’t think a 2005 domestic battery arrest should hurt him in the fall general election, although records in the case raise questions about his version of events.
Scott Lee Cohen, a pawnbroker who was the surprise winner in the little-publicized contest among half a dozen candidates, had previously disclosed the arrest. He described it Wednesday as an argument with his drunken girlfriend and said he didn’t lay a hand on her, though she called the police and had him taken into custody.
But the official police and court records show that the woman alleged Cohen put a knife to her throat and pushed her head against the wall.
In their October 14 arrest report detailing the complaint from the 24-year-old woman, Chicago police noted they observed “mild abrasions from knife wound” on her neck. They also noted “minor scars on her hand from her trying to defend herself against the arrestee swinging the knife at her.” The report notes the woman was seen by ambulance personnel but not taken to a hospital.
The case was dropped a month later when the woman did not show up for a court date.
Also, public records show that the alleged victim, Scott’s 24-year-old girlfriend at the time, was a prostitute. Six months before the October 2005 incident, she had been arrested after a police investigation of a Glenview massage parlor. She later pleaded guilty to a charge of prostitution.
Through a spokesman Cohen said he did not know at the time that the woman was a prostitute and that she had told him she worked as a “massage therapist.”
This guy is a heartbeat away from the governorship, and given the record of previous govs in Illinois, there is a reasonable chance he could end up governor. Too damn funny...

I think he's gonna be pushed from the ticket,
This is a shit storm, I knew this was gonna happen, in 1986 we had the same problem, and we ignored this guy because we thought he was a mope, but I know this would happen......... I heard stories about him,
I personally think that his opponents did not perform their due diligence.......

The State Central Committee would pick the canidate then.....
It sucks it's a raw deal, but this guy should nto be in office......

(CHICAGO) The Civic Federation’s Institute for Illinois’ Fiscal Sustainability released an independent examination of the enacted FY2010 State of Illinois budget today. The first-of-its-kind report is designed to provide Illinois residents with a resource to understand the spending and revenue trends that have led to the current fiscal crisis.
The enacted budget analysis shows that the State faces a two-year budget deficit going into FY2011 totaling at least $12.8 billion. The Federation’s report calculates that the FY2010 deficit has increased about $2.0 billion from the FY2009 deficit, to $5.7 billion. Next year, the State will have to cope with not only this year’s deficit, but also with the loss of one-time revenue sources from FY2010 and additional expenditures. The loss of federal stimulus funds and proceeds from new FY2010 pension borrowing, combined with increased debt service to pay for the pension borrowing and the required increase in the State’s contribution to its retirement systems all contribute to the total deficit of $12.8 billion.

Documents filed in Scott Cohen’s 2005 divorce allege anabolic steroid use and patterns of violence against family members, NBC has learned.
“Over the past year my husband has been taking injectable anabolic steroids,” Cohen’s then-wife Debra York-Cohen said in a statement during their separation proceedings. “As a result he has an erratic and explosive temper.”
As a result of the allegations Cohen, who’s not [sic] the Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor, was ordered by a Cook County Circuit Court to undergo “initial and periodic substance testing.”
The divorce documents also allege that Cohen’s steroid use contributed to periodic episodes of violence against his family.

Now he leaves harassing messages on my mirror in lipstick, so everyone, including my grandchildren who live with me can see these notes.”
She said she became so afraid of Scott during their marriage that she often asked her sister and mother to stay with her because she was afraid to be alone with him.
She claimed that she called police on several occasions to remove Scott from the house, in front of their children.
