The Capitol Grilling forum upgrade adds a range of new features and functionality for our users in the forum. However due to bandwidth concerns, only certain features (listed below) will be enabled for registered users. Additionally, in order to help pay for the maintenance and continued improvement of the site, several features will be retained for members who donate to Capitol Grilling. The Donor feature packages are outlined in Section Three below.
SECTION 1 | NEW GENERAL FEATURES
Below is the list of the limited features that have been enabled. For a detailed list of the full discussion forum features, please read the FAQ
New Post “Jump to” Shortcut
All registered users and visitors
Allows users to jump directly to the most recent post in a thread. Located at the top of each thread.
New Member Status Categories – Default Titles
All registered users excluding users who qualify for custom titles
Default user levels based on number of posts. Please note that custom titles override the standard titles below.
0 Prep Cook
150 Chef
2000 Grill Chef
5000 Master Chef
10000 Culinary Deity
New Member Directory
All registered users
Searchable directory of forum members with featured New Members, Top Posters and Random Member Highlight. Visitors must become registered users in order to the access the directory.
New Topic Reply E-mail Notification
All registered users
Users may opt to receive new reply notifications by e-mail for discussion threads they author. The feature is enabled by clicking the checkbox that appears in the “Post Topic” form. The e-mail account listed in the user profile must be valid in order for the notification to be delivered.
Quick Response Form
All registered users
Allows users to post basic responses from within the thread page.
Report Post
All registered users
Allows users to report a post directly without the need to use the form on the main site or cut and paste URL’s. The notification received by CG automatically includes a direct URL to the reported post.
Print Topic
All registered users and visitors
Allows users to print discussion topics from a printer-friendly page on a white background.
Coming Soon! Syndicated CG Content Feeds
Webmasters and Site Owners
Capitol Grilling will offer content feeds from the Grill and other highly edited CG forums which can be easily added to a website with an short line of cut & paste code. A variety of styles and layouts will be offered serving up to date discussions, posts or polls.

SECTION 2 | PREMIUM FEATURES
Please refer to Section Three for information on how to gain access to new Premium Features
$ | Avatar Images
Registered users who qualify for this feature may display a 60 x 60 pixel custom avatar beside their moniker, or alternately select an avatar from the library. The avatar function is valid for a period of one year from the time it is initially displayed. Avatars may be linked to directly from the profile, or e-mailed to CG in order to be uploaded to the server.
Note: Capitol Grilling may temporarily hide avatars during heavy spikes in traffic that affect the overall performance of the forum.
$ | Polls - Surveys
The polling system used at Capitol Grilling provides several safeguards to ensure a high rate of accuracy and discourage cheating by either the poll creator or respondents. This process is much more reliable than the majority of web polls, which in most cases do not offer any security beyond authenticating users through cookies if at all.
Safeguards:
- Unregistered visitors are unable to participate in the poll or view the results. Visitors are therefore encouraged to register in the forum in order to vote.
- The registration process validates e-mail addresses and also checks for duplicates in order to prevent single user multiple accounts.
- IP addresses are now directly logged into an administrative section of the user profile screen and can be queried as a means to detect users with multiple monikers.
- Poll question(s) cannot be changed once the poll is activated.
- Users cannot change votes once they have been submitted.
Registered users may create a specified number of polls based on their donor level (Section 3) – multiple question surveys on any topic, and will remain active for up to one month. In order to maximize the visibility and effectiveness of the polls in the forum, the number of simultaneous polls in the forum will be limited for any given period of time.
Users may market a poll they have created to audiences outside of Capitol Grilling, and may also use the “Email Topic” UBB Friend feature to e-mail the poll anonymously without their e-mail address appearing as the sender.
Capitol Grilling may at its discretion promote user polls through e-mail newsletters, CG content feeds and offline marketing and feature the results on the main site in order to gain the widest audience possible for the poll. Polls may be archived at the discretion of the editor in a dedicated forum for polls and surveys conducted at Capitol Grilling.
$ | Featured Polls - Surveys
Polls that have been featured acquire maximum visibility by being appended to the top of the forum list page for a period of one week. (See Featured Topic)
$ | Featured Topics
Qualified registered users may have a specified number of thread topics featured by Capitol Grilling at the top of the forum summary page for a period of one week. In order to ensure maximum visibility for the featured topic, Capitol Grilling will limit the number of total featured topics to five for any given period.

SECTION 3 | $ FEATURE QUALIFIERS
The cumulative dollar amount for donations made to Capitol Grilling is calculated for a given fiscal year. Users who make multiple donations in a single year may advance to higher levels and qualify for additional features. Unless otherwise noted, the added features expire on January 1st of each year and may not be carried over to the next year (exceptions will be made for users who donate in the month of December)
Donations – Level I
- Custom Title:
Registered users at CG who meet the criteria for any one of the below categories may select a custom title to appear below their moniker (one title per moniker) in lieu of the standard titles. Once the user selects the custom title, it cannot be changed unless the user qualifies a second time for a new custom title. The custom titles remain in effect for the life of the single moniker/user account in the CG forum.
How to Qualify:
Purchase any standard CG brand merchandise in the Grill Shop. Minimum order must exceed $10 excluding shipping and handling OR Pay by check or Money Order in any amount less than $40 (See important instructions below)
Donations – Level II
- All benefits of the previous levels +
- Polls:
Users at this level qualify for 3 polls in the forum. Offer expires at the end of the year. - Avatars:
Users at this level qualify for a avatar either from the CG Library, or linked to from the profile page. Avatars expire at the end each year however the feature may be extended at the discretion of Capitol Grilling if the forum is maintained within bandwidth limits. - Private Messaging
This feature is currently deactivated however users at this level or above will qualify for private messaging if the feature is activated on the Grill
How to Qualify:
Purchase one or more Special Edition Donor T-Shirts or one or more of any other exclusive items which may be added to this page. All merchandise listed on the page includes a $40 donation to Capitol Grilling OR Pay by check or Money Order. $40 to $200 (See important instructions below)
Donations – Level III
- All benefits of the previous levels +
- Polls:
Users at this level qualify unlimited Polls for a single year period. - Featured Polls:
Users at this level qualify for one (1) Featured poll appended to the top of the forum list page for a period of one week and listed on the main site index page. - Custom “by Invitation” Poll:
One (1) custom poll or survey designed by zeroflux and activated in a password protected forum at Capitol Grilling (optional) - Featured Topics
Up to Five (5) featured topics, each for a period of one week. - Capitol Grilling e-mail account
E-mail account (POP3 and Web) at the Capitol Grilling domain for a period of one year.
Users must sign a standard waiver that they are not employees, contractors...etc. of Capitol Grilling, and agree not to use the account for illegal activities, spam or other actions that would reflect poorly on CG, or otherwise misrepresent themselves as being affiliated with CG...etc.
How to Qualify
Four or more Special Edition Donor T-Shirts or four or more of any other exclusive items which may be added to this page. All merchandise listed on the page includes a $40 donation to Capitol Grilling OR Pay by check or Money Order. $200 + (See important instructions below)

Should CG Solicit Donations?
There are several methods of donating to Capitol Grilling.
Donating through Paypal
Use the Paypal link on the Main Page of the site to make a secure donation to Capitol Grilling by credit card, electronic check payment or Paypal balance transfer.
Donate by Check or Money Order
Capitol Grilling operating costs are handled through a Zeroflux account. Please make checks payable to Zeroflux Virtual Reality, Inc. and write “Capitol Grilling Donation” in the memo section of the check or money order. Checks made out to Capitol Grilling will not be processed.
Note: Cash donations are also accepted but discouraged. If you must send cash, please ensure that it is not visible through the envelope as to prevent loss or theft. Please also include at a note with your moniker (users registered in the forum) and optionally your name and contact information.

Refunds of Donations
Donations by check or money order cannot be refunded unless the contribution is not yet deposited upon notification of Capitol Grilling. Donations through the purchase of Donor or regular Capitol Grilling merchandise are covered under a 30-day money back guarantee offered by Café Press.

We appreciate our online community and strive to continue to offer a high quality non-partisan political forum for our users to discuss politics, explore their intellectual curiosity and debate the hot topics of the day.
We would like nothing more than to provide the maximum number of features at our disposal to all of our members, however doing so would substantially increase our expenses.
In an effort to offer the maximum number of users the full features of the discussion forum, we will periodically offer special promotions – Feature Giveaways that are not tied to monetary donations. Please check this section periodically for updates.

Special Promotions List
Parlor Game Qualifier
Users inducted into the Hall of Fame for The Political Parlor Game qualify for a one-time custom title for their registered moniker.
The Publishing Qualifier
Users who submit and successfully publish 5 or more articles or rants on the main site @ CG qualify for a custom moniker and avatar for a period of one year. Submissions that are rejected will not be counted towards the total count for this qualifier.
Loyal Chef Qualifier
Any user who substantially contributes to the image or visibility of Capitol Grilling through individual promotion, including but not limited to activities that boost traffic, result in media coverage for CG may qualify at the discretion of the Grill Masters for the custom moniker and/or any number of additional features.

Creating Polls
Users who have been given permission to create polls may do so in the below listed forum:
Create a Poll
Polls will then be rotated through the Grill on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that users who do not have access to the above forum cannot vote in the poll until it is transferred to the Grill.

Users who have been given permission to post polls (Level II donors and other select users who qualify under designated special promotions) may do so in the following forum:
CG Polls and Surveys
The polls will then be moved to the Grill in a controlled manner as to maximize the participation for any one poll, and to avoid saturating the forum with surveys.
Level II Donors qualify for three polls in a period of one year (Level III qualify for unlimited polls). Users who qualify under designated special promotions qualify for one poll.
Polls will be served on a first-come first-serve basis with a mandatory hold time between the release of each poll to the Grill.

zero, I'd like to buy the long sleve T-shirt AND make a donation at the same time? is there a way I can do both (like I can with the Beer Can Bob for President donor series T-shirt)?
